Distribution
Manual vs digital distribution management
Order books and phone calls work, until they don't. Here's what changes when distribution goes digital.

The manual way
Reps write orders in books, call them in at the end of the day, and the warehouse re-types everything. Stock is counted weekly. Nobody knows today's sales until tomorrow.
It works for small volumes. As outlets and routes grow, the gaps show:
- Orders get lost or entered twice
- Stock on paper doesn't match stock in the warehouse
- Routes depend on memory, not planning
- Managers can't see rep performance until month end
The digital way
With a distribution management system:
- Orders flow instantly from the field to the warehouse
- Stock updates as orders are dispatched and delivered
- Routes are planned and outlets assigned to reps
- Deliveries are tracked with confirmation at the outlet
- Dashboards show sales by rep, route and product every day
Is it worth switching?
If you manage more than a handful of reps or routes, the time saved on re-typing orders and chasing stock usually pays for itself quickly.
